CHRISTMAS VACATION

Good morning to everyone. I have been away from the posting for a while due to working 12 hour shifts. My schedule has changed so I can now find time for my life pleasures. I am also on vacation for three weeks. How that happened, I do not know.

Yesterday I bought myself a Christmas present. I went to the AT&T store and bought myself a new tablet. I also bought the keyboard that goes with it. This is just a great gift for me. It is just my size. LOL. My old tablet had fallen off my bed so many times that the front glass was shattered and I was getting glass shards in my fingers. It was time. The new keyboard attachment is also changing my world. I can now EBay my antiques and post my blog from the comfort of my bedroom. I have computers in my kitchen and in my office but the tablet is what makes it to the my private quarters. LOL again. This is really a game changer for me. Maybe I will stay off the Merge Dragon game and get myself a little real work done.

This Christmas is going to be different for me. Chuck has passed away. We used to have exchange students and a house full of children and grandchildren at Christmas. Last Christmas I had my new fella over and then went to my daughter’s house to open gifts with her family. I did not even put up a Christmas tree. This year I am going to San Antonio to have Christmas with his children and his sister. I know all of them but do not really know how their traditions are. We shall see.

My birthday is two days after Christmas and I have made reservations at my favorite steak house and at my favorite hotel room. I will be looking at all the Christmas lights in downtown Fort Worth. It is beautiful during the holidays. This will be my 60th birthday. Wow. Time flies fast and I still have much to do with life. Let’s get it going.

I hope you guys enjoy seeing my transition from a working person to a retired person. I plan on keeping you informed of the progression.

I hope everyone has a lovely holiday season.

Hello, my name is Dinky. This is a name given to me in my first marriage. It is my grandma name. A few other selected individuals address me as such. I am a onetime divorced, one-time widowed single woman trying to discover the real me. I will take you on my journey. Read if you are interested. I feel that I am a hard knock educated person. I have been a working mother, a stay-at-home wife, a Christian, a caretaker, and a retired woman. I am always seeking wisdom on how to improve as a person and hopefully I can share as I learn more. I have many interests. I enjoy cooking because I enjoy eating. I am not a great cook but am eager to try new recipes. I will share these with you. I have a degree in business management and a certification in food science. I have worked man years in the food manufacturing industry. I also have a small farm. I have some cows, a donkey, some wild horses a bull and two dogs. I would like to explore more homesteading techniques and become self-sustained. Maybe we can learn together. I encourage your input and ideas. I have spent many years learning how to make quilts. This is another hobby I would like to get back into. I am always up to learn new crafts and explore new projects. I am really big on goal setting and finding ways to make my life simpler. I will take you through some of my ideas on that progress. Lastly, but biggest on my list is that I am a Christian in continual growth mode. I will never be all that I should, and I will never judge people in regard to their own journey. I am always open for discussion on this topic. If you find my talks interesting, feel free to follow me. If I say or write anything offensive feel free to call me out. I am up for improvement and self-growth. Welcome to learning about me and helping me in my self-discovery.
